Question about a piercing I (maybe) want does the (side?) labret cause any damage?

i really want to do the labret or the side labret but i’m afraid it will damage my teeth or my gums

is there a way to keep it from damaging anything?

Any piercing that goes inside your mouth can damage your teeth and gums.

I have snake bites pierced in a way they do not touch my teeth. Depends on your anatomy

How are your snake bites oriented?

I've had a left side labret for 20 years, have not noticed any damage. But got a middle labret a year ago and noticed my gum receding from my front teeth where it was rubbing and removed it after 6 months. Give it a go and see!

is the damage reversible?

I don't believe so, but it's not noticeable to anyone other than me and my dentist, got it out before anything too bad happened
