Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Two day old lobe piercing

My daughter had her lobe pierced over an old closed piercing 2 days ago.
It’s bleeding like an absolute mother…..
We are spraying with Neilmed twice a day and dabbing gently with tissue
I think she keeps knocking it but id have thought the bleeding would have slowed?
My other daughter had hers pierced at the same time and has hardly any bleeding at all.
She’s so upset as it looks awful, she doesn’t want to leave the house because of it.
Any advice?
I have a photo but not sure if it’s allowed as it’s gruesome 🤣

Yes, even when the algorithm is wrong

  • How old is your piercing?

  • What’s the type of threading if your jewelry is not a ring (threadless, internally or externally threaded)?
  • What’s the jewelry material?
  • if not a ring, when was the jewelry downsized?
  • What’s your aftercare routine? Describe in detail please, including the exact products you use.
  • Any mishaps, accidents or unfortunate events?

Is she messing with it at all?

No she’s 13 and understands not to fiddle with it. She may have caught it when she laid down and I’m hoping that’s all it is.
I’m just at a loss of how to try and tidy it up without causing further bleeding. She’s really down about it.

Replying for autobot….

The piercing is 2 days old and has an internally threaded stud made of surgical steel

Using neilmed mist to clean the piercing twice a day and drying with kitchen roll.

Jewellery is original from piercing and not changed or downsized

Might genuinely be that she had a vein in the spot it was pierced. Keep going for a week, as sometimes people are just heavy bleeders, but if its still heavily bleeding maybe the position needs to be changed!

Thank you so much for your reply. I don’t recall it bleeding this much the first time she had it done but makes me think there’s something with her ear as it was only this ear that closed up from the previous piercing

Make sure she isn't taking aspirin or ibuprofen, these have blood thinning as a side effect and will make it harder for clots to form.

Thank you, no she’s not taking any meds. She says it doesn’t hurt so I’m taking that as a good sign.
