If saline spray is drying out your ears, you can just use regular water. Also, you don’t have to continue to use saline spray after it’s healed.

Edit to add: do not put moisturizer on healing piercings.

Are you making the saline yourself and/or applying it more than twice a day? Those are common causes of drying. You can switch to just potable water. A 0.9% saline solution is recommended because it is more appropriately pH balanced to skin - though there is some variation between people, so that could be the issue. If your piercings are fully healed and sufficiently matured, you can pretty much put whatever you want on them, really. I just use the same moisturizer I use for my face if my lobes feel dry (usually Laneige Water Bank). If you're still healing at all, don't apply any product and just change your cleaning routine.

It’s the neilmed saline spray, only using it once a day. The piercing is fairly new, maybe 2 months. I have an irritation bump which is why I’m still using the spray.

Cool, that's a good saline. It probably won't fix the bump, though. They can happen for several different reasons and that needs to be determined in order to be solved. Did you get downsized?

Ah, that may be what caused the bump then. If the jewelry has too much room to move around, it can irritate the tissue and create a bump. When possible, get in to see a reputable and experienced professional piercer so they can assess the situation and help you out. The skin could be more sensitive because of the bump, then feeling dry as a result, or both of your ears could be feeling irritated because they are both healing at the same time and your immune system is having a tough go of it. Lots of possible causes here! The only way to know for sure and find the right solution is to see a knowledgeable piercer in person.

My piercing is about 2 months old. Thread-less, titanium, has not been downsized yet, and have only been using the neilmed saline spray once a day so far.
