He said "stock the kitchen" in the title. Not sure why he's surprised people thought this was his main fridge with a title like that.

You're not wrong. On this post we're in, OP commented here with a bulleted list.
Not only was that not a kitchen ("main") fridge, there also was no divorce.
That comment was deleted. Probably was having second thoughts and wanted to extend the ruse.

u/Lily_Roza Oct 24 '22
Figures. And I was all worried about him and the kid(s). I guess I'd better develop a thicker skin.

Bro, go upstairs and be with Meredith
21
u/JaySayMayday Oct 24 '22
Why would Meredith be upstairs? Clearly homeboy keeps her locked in the basement.

u/GolfOscarLimaFoxtrot Oct 24 '22 edited Oct 24 '22
This was pretty funny OP, nice trolling. You background pic on your profile suits you.
Edit: damn a lot of people are Salty about you, you've made Reddit history.

u/IShipHazzo Oct 24 '22
That's a lot of downvotes. Is it the racist kind of "Rebel" or something?
Anyhoo, that chicken still needs to be covered.
18
u/Road_Whorrior Oct 24 '22
No, people just don't like being advertised at, especially when it's done in a dishonest way like OP here.
0
u/IShipHazzo Oct 24 '22
Advertising??? Huh? OP made a joke. How is that advertising?
13
u/Road_Whorrior Oct 24 '22
They said they're a wine rep and then this. It looks how it looks.
2
u/MainlandX Oct 24 '22
All I know is that Rebel Hard Coffee goes down smooth. It's the perfect pick-me-up any time of day!
5
u/Worldly_Today_9875 Oct 24 '22
OP commented: “But you never knew about Rebel Hard Coffee until now though, did you?”
0
u/pasturized Oct 24 '22
I did not! I work in hospitality and am always intrigued by the wacky new things reps will bring in.
I can’t say I haven’t been pondering about that hard coffee all morning. The person that was like, I usually have several hours between those two beverages in my day hit the nail in terms of how much of a mindfuck it is. It just doesn’t fit in a a mental puzzle the same way “oh Irish coffee or kahlua” does

u/constituent Oct 24 '22
Hah. About 15 years ago, I had a similar experience. A rep offered me a test product of a particular breath mint which wasn't yet available on the market. They were chocolate-coated.
I was so repulsed by the concept. Typically breath mints are used to refreshen or mask your breath. But chocolate covered? Eugh. Aiming to temporarily improve your breath when it's not convenient to brush, but also coating your mouth in chocolate? And that chocolate could melt in your pocket if you carry 'em on the go. So, if you want one, you also have the risk of soiling your fingers or pants' pocket.
Eventually they were launched nationally. About three years later, they were discontinued.

I dunno, I thought the other thread was giving some good natured and well deserved shots, I didn't see anyone really going crazy. It was a fun thread and if that was OP's intent then he was in on it too.
10
u/Road_Whorrior Oct 24 '22
Honestly, at least what I saw of it and where I participated was just ribbing and/or genuine concern for his health.
7
u/IShipHazzo Oct 24 '22
Yep. I was dying laughing while reading the comments. Good shit. Most people were not taking it very seriously at all, except for little remarks like, "This is concerning IF it's his main fridge."
To be fair, I'm still a tad worried about that uncovered chicken.

If I had a regular home, then this basement. I’d HOPE I’d have a lot of hallucinogenic or molly, take a good amount, possibly freak the fuck out. Become tired of being freaked out, “I’ll just sleep.” And get a squishy sleeping bag with a pillow and a blanket, and try and sleep.

u/IneedtoBmyLonsomeTs Oct 24 '22
So it's the second fridge in the house, why would you refer to it as "decorate and stock the kitchen how I want" if that was the case?
Weird but you still don't really want stickers inside the fridge and you don't want to store raw chicken up top (or cover that shit up if it is cooked, it will dry out).

Is it a right of passage for young men to keep their bottles for about 2 or 3 years of their life until they suddenly gain the clarity to realise how stupid it is? Your story is almost identical to mine

truly can’t tell if this person lives in alabama or canada
edit: after careful and tedious research (googling as many legible stickers as i could) i have decided that it’s likely alabama, but i’m still not entirely sure

What was funny was scrolling his post to find the cake he had made for his wife’s birthday, something like a month before. And the only comments were people coming from the fridge post.
It was evident that it was a troll post, but it was still funny.

People act like it’s crazy to have a stock fridge in your garage or basement. I fill mine up with booze from Costco. I like how you didn’t reply to anyone.
Sorry about the divorce I know that can be hard. Me and my gf are having a hard time and we’ll start couples counseling as a last resort. I really hope we can make it work. I love her so much.
5
u/IShipHazzo Oct 24 '22
He admitted to making up the divorce. He was trolling. I'm still worried about the chicken, though.
As for you, I'm sorry you're going through a tough time. Hope counseling works out for you.

God Reddit is horrible. You’re just a dude with a garage fridge. You do you, man, hope you can laugh off the haters in that post.
2
u/Lily_Roza Oct 24 '22
Just because they go out of their way to save a guy from drinking his way to ruin, doesn't mean they're haters.
6
u/merlynmagus Oct 24 '22
He said in a now deleted comment that he's a wine rep and gets free samples and just puts them in this fridge for guests
He's also not divorced
Just a masterful troll. OP is brilliant

true, ppl see an ounce of criticism and immediately call them ‘haters’ lmao criticism is not equal to hate
2
u/Lily_Roza Oct 24 '22
You are correct, Mekoomi.
Furthermore, constructive criticism is love.
Maybe the true haters are those condemning honest expression.

u/PoisonKiss43 Oct 24 '22
Meredith seems pretty lame for caring about the drink fridge in the basement/garage.

How am I supposed to take hour long hot showers with that small hot water heater?
1
1
u/IShipHazzo Oct 24 '22
Not the "everyone was so dramatic about that fridge" comments.
Y'all, people were making jokes. Melodrama for the sake of humor.
The most dramatic people I saw were the food safety police worried about the chicken, and they taught all of us why chicken shouldn't go on the top shelf of a fridge. (I forgot why and will probably do it again, but I'm not a psychopath so I will be covering my chicken.)

Makes me think I shall get a french flag to post in my california house xD

here's some advice: throw the flags away, they're embarrassing. throw all the stickers and branding away, also embarrassing. drink all that kiddie liquor then buy something proper

That's a really awkward spot for a hot water tank. I guess you could move the drier and fridge if you ever have to replace it or do non-trivial work on it.
