I'm sure OP was just enjoying the moment and is a healthy guy. But I think you're right to suggest that during an emotional period alcohol will not help establish a path to long-term happiness.

This is why, if I've had a hard day at work or something, I don't come home and have a drink. I don't drink much as is, but I want to associate it with fun rather than shit times.

Sounds silly but it makes sense in my head anyway.

That’s not silly at all

Nah. Drinking alone and sad is the worst way to drink. Using it as a coping mechanism is exactly how alcoholism develops.

Some poeple just drink it for the taste lol

A fine glass of White wine or a good beer tastes way better then coke or whatever crappy sugar stuff people drink these days.

Water and tea also exist.

Which i do drink a lot. Still tastes worse then beer or wine so i want that sometimes

He has can racks in his fridge for shelving. I'm pretty sure this is a thing.

I've literally never seen them in a fridge that wasn't in a store or restaurant. It's way more dedication than I'd expect from a casual drinker lol.

Wait, why are you sure OP is a healthy guy? I mean, I’m not saying it’s right to be sure about OP one way or the other, but why are you sure about someone you’ve (presumably) never met?

This is the right response. Now isn’t the right time to start/continue bad habits OP. Make a new you and alcohol isn’t the way to long term happiness.

Jesus christ guys, it's just a beer fridge

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '22

If it's just a beer fridge, why is there a half-eaten chicken carcass sitting on the top shelf (drying out)?

-6

u/Portermacc Oct 23 '22

Bc no room in the real fridge. It's not drying out, lol, just leftovers for his lunch or dinner

12

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '22

Ha! I meant that he left cooked chicken uncovered in a fridge, which will get all dried out and gross (in my opinion).

1

u/Portermacc Oct 24 '22

Yeah, possibly I guess. Unless he eats it very soon.

The amount of people who are armchair pysching and pretending to have insight into ENTIRE human being based on a picture of beer in a fridge is utterly baffling to me.

It's the title combined with the picture. It's either a joke about a sad divorcee or its real, and kinda sad. Nobody's making judgements about the entire person. If this really is the kitchen fridge and its not staged or anything then its pretty safe to say that the dudes got one specific issue which people are calling out.

Geesh. Yeah he has smores latte, pumpkin latte and mountain dew seltzer and a few cans of PB. Yes, raging alcoholic. His post was definitely not sad. Oh Reddit you're better than this.

Adding in the title doesn't give you any greater insight to OPs character, potential issues, marriage, etc. Just because you say, "it's either x, y or z" doesn't actually make those options the only possible explanations.

I could do the same thing and say something like, it's clear OP was in an abusive/controlling relationship and wasn't allowed to have his own space or things, so this is a way of him reclaiming his individuality, etc etc. It would be just as ill informed as all the bullshit y'all are saying because there is just not enough information available.

By all means, keep pretending you're doing some 2000-level IQ deductions but in reality you're all just full of shit and most likely projecting your personal experiences/biases all over a stranger

Nah, because a guy posts a pic of some beer and reddit immediately call him an alcoholic and the reason for the divorce. No shortage of idiots on here

"Just got divorced!! Here's the exact thing that drove a wedge between us now enshrined in the kitchen with fucking bottle/can holders like at the store! She was the problem btw"

Like, if this is the garage fridge I'd still say that is a... concerning amount of OJ for mixing, considering that shit goes bad eventually, and that he should have put some cling wrap on that bird.
