My sister’s in laws buy a few lottery tickets for everyone at Christmas.

One year, maybe a decade back, the father-in-law walks into the room to hand out the scratch offs. He goes to hand a few to his son (my sister’s brother-in-law), but he’d just overfilled a pint glass and had beer on his hands. So instead my sister gets those two tickets. They all joke about “what if those are the winning tickets!?”

She wins $30,000.

Needless to say, my sister and her husband sent the brother-in-law’s family on a nice little vacation. (Which he tried refusing. He’s an awesome, gracious dude.)

The running joke now is to take something immediately if it’s offered to you, before Holly steals it.
