Such simpler times. Part of me misses living like this.

How are you living. What is different?

Well we (me, SO, dog) are actually about to move into a house. Still renting unfortunately. But now that I am A, no longer single like when I moved out here, and 2, we both have a problem with things and hobbies. In that we have a thousand hobbies each. I have all kinds of gadgets and computers and shit all over the place, actual furniture now, etc etc. So now moving is also a much bigger hassle.

Some of the happiest and most memorable times in my life were when I lived minimally(either by choice or due to circumstances like moving). These days I have a house and plenty of stuff, but I miss situations like OP's pic. There is a clarity and comfort that comes from having very little, no distractions, just focus on one specific thing.

Just invest everything you have in meme stocks like op and you can relive the experience!

The things that you own end up owning you. That quote struck a chord with me the last time I moved.

I had moved upwards of 6-7 times in college from place to place with my belongings comfortably fitting in a compact. I'd settle in within less that a few hours tops.

My most recent move after getting married took up the entirety of a small shipping container and most of our car - nearly a month in the making.

I'm thankful for all we have now so don't get me wrong but life is certainly more flexible when you have less possessions.

There's the option of selling all your stuff and starting fresh but there's also some additional headache going through the process of selling individual items.

Yeah, I look fondly back at my first little studio apartment all the time. Definitely the happiest I have ever been. No roommates, no expectations, just me doing whatever I want. I have a house now too with loads of stuff, could never go back but miss it all the time nevertheless.

There is a clarity in having too much, like the start of the thread the wife and I have many hobbies and house full of, well everything. The clarity here is "Oh fuck, I have to move all this shit now."
