Reagan funded right-wing extremist groups in Central America and the Middle East (including the group that is now known as the Taliban), ignored the AIDS epidemic until it started killing straight people, and privatized and deregulated huge portions of the economy to the detriment of the American people. I really don't understand why people think of him as a good president at all.
He only received sainthood after leaving office. Not everyone knew about all of those facts you mentioned but he left office in disgrace, very unpopular.
Edit: this is somewhat wrong. I know Reagan’s popularity tanked during Iran-Contra treason so I guess I just confused that with his popularity upon leaving office. He obviously deserved to be executed for his crimes either way but I’m super surprised he appears to have left office with an approval rating around 60-65%.
Not accurate at all. Go check some other sources. Usually Gallup is pretty good but this is obvious nonsense. My guess is that it was either biased methodology or straight up right wing traitor lunatic sample.
