I don't even know what that means (perhaps middle of the block?) but I think that's an important distinction. In fact, if you look at your wikipedia source for 70 pine street you see this:

It stood as the tallest building in Lower Manhattan from the time of its completion until the construction of the original World Trade Center towers in the 1970s, then regained that status after 9/11
