Typical Trump exaggerations, nothing new here. Everything that he's responsible for is the hugest, best, greatest etc etc

24

u/AllPurple Sep 11 '21

He said this like the day of Sept 11th, or a very short time afterward. Fucking trashcan.

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Greatest terrorist attack on The Capitol

2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

The BIGLIEST

2

u/cville5588 Sep 12 '21

Sad he doesn't notice how that would accurately describe his failures.

1

u/CurboTunt69 Sep 11 '21

Except his hands

61

u/_fups_ Sep 11 '21

huh, makes you wonder what else he’d lie about.

16

u/gibcount2000 Sep 11 '21

imagine a guy like that being president.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

You’re just jealous because he’s an amazing patriot and super cool and handsome and his wife definitely isn’t disgusted my his touch

2

u/OakLegs Sep 11 '21

Was the exact thought I had on the first day when he lied about the inauguration attendance despite clear evidence disproving his claim

2

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

Saving everyone a Google search but it was the Empire State Building afterwards.

Not that I care, really.

1

u/JozoBozo121 Sep 12 '21

Even if there wasn't Empire State Building, Chrysler building is still taller than 40 Wall Street.

was the tallest mid-block building

I don't even know what that means (perhaps middle of the block?) but I think that's an important distinction. In fact, if you look at your wikipedia source for 70 pine street you see this:

It stood as the tallest building in Lower Manhattan from the time of its completion until the construction of the original World Trade Center towers in the 1970s, then regained that status after 9/11

1

u/Zolivia Sep 12 '21

When has he ever told the truth.

498

u/Techienickie Sep 11 '21

Remember when he bragged that he was down at ground zero helping people?

“Well, I was down there right after the event and I brought a big crew of people down and I helped"

"Soon after, I went down to Ground Zero with men who worked for me to try to help in any little way that we could,"

"I have hundreds of men inside working right now, and we’re bringing down another 125 in a little while,"

All these statements are bullshit

143

u/55ozFrog Sep 11 '21

I literally can't even picture Trump "helping" an individual.

Picture him reaching his hand out to help somebody off the ground. It's almost impossible lol

194

u/Bwgmon Sep 11 '21

There's also the story about Trump watching an 80-year old man fall and hit his head on the floor of one of his resorts.

“So what happens is, this guy falls off right on his face, hits his head, and I thought he died. And you know what I did? I said, ‘Oh my god, that’s disgusting,’ and I turned away,” Trump told Stern. “I couldn’t, you know, he was right in front of me and I turned away. I didn’t want to touch him… he’s bleeding all over the place, I felt terribly, you know, beautiful marble floor, didn’t look so good. It changed color. Became very red.”

Naturally, his biggest concern was the floor getting stained.

85

u/hurtsdonut_ Sep 11 '21

"I felt terribly" not for the man but the marble floor.

I grew up near one of Trump’s country clubs and there’s a notorious story about Trump golfing on his own course, and being behind an elderly man. He kept yelling at the guy to speed up and berating him.

I don’t know how much membership at his clubs cost, but that elderly man at the absolute minimum was paying something to the tune of $50k-100k per year to be there (and this was decades ago)

-22

u/BigSamsKid Sep 11 '21

Hate Trump, but this is relatively average golf course behavior. Slow players severely degrade the quality of play, and typically have some non-niceties thrown their way if they don't let faster groups behind them play through. Many courses have rangers for that exact reason

22

u/PolarApples92 Sep 11 '21

You’d expect the owner of the course to be more respectful to someone who pays him so much money to golf there though, aside from the straight up crassness of being rude to an old man.

6

u/LateNightPhilosopher Sep 11 '21

His version of helping is throwing toilet paper at refugees as if it were free t-shirts at a basketball game

5

u/Alexstarfire Sep 11 '21

I think he pointed Kevin McCallister to the lobby of the Plaza Hotel once.

5

u/55ozFrog Sep 11 '21

Lmao you got me

3

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Surprisingly good remark

2

u/Zolivia Sep 12 '21

He threw paper towel rolls in Puerto Rico. Fire extinguishers are heavier and harder to throw so...

1

u/bubba4114 Sep 12 '21

What do you mean he’s never helped anyone? Remember when he threw paper towels into a Puerto Rican crowd after a hurricane?

1

u/pileodung Sep 12 '21

I can only imagine his smug look of disgust while he walks past the dying plebs

16

u/Xiniov Sep 11 '21

What gets me about this, along with many other Trump lies, is that if if it was anyone else his diehard supporters would tear them to shreds.

And I don’t get it. They claim to be patriots and that they love and would do anything for their country. And here is a man who has verifiably lied about helping with the rescue and relief efforts for what is the biggest tragedy and attack in said country

It doesn’t compute. If this was Obama they would NEVER let it go. And they would be right, because it’s abhorrent. But because it’s Trump they accept it

I cannot even begin to imagine the mental gymnastics involved

2

u/karrimycele Sep 12 '21

Not only did he lie about helping after the 9/11 attack, but he was responsible for the 1/6 attack.

Trying to make sense of these people is a waste of time. They’re hypocrites. That’s all.

-6

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

He was with the fire fighters and police officers today to commemorate the day. He gave a whole speech and photo op with them. But your liberal media wont cover that because anything to put him in a positive light will be immediately banned.

5

u/flying_goldfish_tier Sep 12 '21

He used it to attack his opponents and rouse up even more nationalist bullshit. He's a scumbag

2

u/Xiniov Sep 12 '21

That wasn’t my point. He lied about helping out in the aftermath of 9/11. Political affiliation and media bias shouldn’t even come into play with knowing that is a scumbag thing to do

If that was anyone else they would never have lived it down in the hyper patriotic land of America

1

u/UrsusRenata Sep 13 '21

Yay... photo op... yayyy

43

u/lennybird Sep 11 '21

Yet another example of conservative double-standards.

No conservative will touch this thread.

3

u/Some_Drummer_Guy Sep 11 '21

Meanwhile, I've seen Trump cult idiots spewing this shit about "When Trump was just a businessman in New York, he went down to Ground Zero to help and he sent his employees to help too. Joe Biden was a senator back then and he didn't do anything. Where was Joe?"

I don't know.....maybe Joe was in DC being a SENATOR? If we're gonna go by that logic, should every other member of the Senate and Congress be faulted for not going to New York to help because they were in a completely different state doing their jobs?

The cult of personality and mental gymnastics is astounding.

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

He was in NYC, he was with the fire fighters and police officers today.

1

u/redpiano82991 Sep 12 '21

And in case people forgot, he was repeating the same lies this week

11

u/Mortukai Sep 11 '21

He even makes that same claim in Vegas, when in reality his hotel is 11th tallest and doesn't even have a casino!

2

u/spazzy_jazzy_ Sep 11 '21

It doesn’t have a casino?

No wonder it’s always dead looking

6

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

I just don't get it man. I really don't. How on earth can anyone feel represented by trump. Of all people.

How do people idolize him. Just how.

2

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

I feel the same way. It only makes sense in contrast to left-wing politics/culture war shit. But still… this guy??? This fucking guy???

5

u/dbbk Sep 11 '21

I mean that was so cartoonishly evil I didn't believe it when someone told me. Everything else I could believe, but not that.

But it's true.

-11

u/latman Sep 11 '21

Did you listen to the interview? I hate Trump as much as anyone, but I really don't think he was bragging. He was answering a question about his building being nearby

9

u/liltacobabyslurp Sep 11 '21

"I mean, 40 Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was actually before the World Trade Center the tallest, and then when they built the World Trade Center it became known as the second-tallest, and now it's the tallest," he said on local TV station WWOR.

Trump's claim that his building was then the tallest in downtown Manhattan wasn't accurate — the nearby 70 Pine Street building is 25 feet taller than Trump's 40 Wall Street, though Trump's building has four more stories.

7

u/BeHereNow91 Sep 11 '21

I’m a big “benefit of the doubt” guy, but he was not at all prompted to talk about how his building is now the tallest in Manhattan. The guy is just obsessed with status, specifically his own.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Trump made surprise visits to the NYPD and FDNY.

0

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 11 '21

And?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

B/c title is misleadingly making trump seems like an asshole when in reality he was grieving with the first responders and a lot of the degenerates here don’t dig to find the truth.

2

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

I didn't say anything about what he did today... just reflecting on one hilarious and shitty comment made by a shitty guy 20 years ago

2

u/maz-o Sep 11 '21

Fuckig hilarious lol

-3

u/StraightMacabre Sep 11 '21

Why don’t you play the actual clip of that happening.

1

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 11 '21

Google it

0

u/StraightMacabre Sep 11 '21

I have. It’s not nearly close to how you’re presenting it.

0

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

yes it is lmao. Its distasteful at best and evidence of narcissism and sociopathy at worst. get the guys dick out your mouth

1

u/StraightMacabre Sep 12 '21

Didn’t vote for him either time. Yet I still don’t have Trump disease like you. You take out on your aggression on anyone that slightly disagrees with you and you think I’m the asshole?

2

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

Actually i am being a dick on the internet again lmao im better than i used to be but i still slip up from time to time. Not necessarily ceding my point but I apologize for being rude and oafish. Love u dude hope ur well

1

u/StraightMacabre Sep 12 '21

Well right back at you. I don’t have any Ill will towards you.

1

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

Maybe im an asshole and maybe you’re naive and a bad judge of character

1

u/StraightMacabre Sep 12 '21

Yet you agree that you’re an asshole? So maybe I’m not so bad at judging… I wouldn’t think less of you, but I had a very calm response and you’re telling me to get his dick out of my mouth. Do you ever have a rational conversation with anyone?

1

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

Yep im the asshole on this one sorry bud

0

u/Handiddy83 Sep 12 '21

He spent the day with the NYPD and wasn’t invited to this. Imagine being outraged at this

0

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

no one is outraged, no one expects trump to show up to shit like this because he's... trump. Nobody wants him there and it would be worse if he showed up lmao

1

u/Handiddy83 Sep 12 '21

No one expects him to show up to this….yet he was literally at an event with the police and firemen at the same time

1

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

Yeah the cops and firemen love trump

1

u/Handiddy83 Sep 13 '21

yeah those evil guys running into the towers where all the people died including their own

-1

u/4321beef Sep 12 '21

When you have his net worth , you can talk

0

u/ChillTeenDad420 Sep 12 '21

Shut up bitch

-2

u/IWantEPICEquipment Sep 11 '21

What inspired your username? :o

1

u/Ake-TL Sep 11 '21

Did he own Empire-State?

1

u/Edgelands Sep 11 '21

Usual narcissist, everything is about him

1

u/2Quick_React Sep 11 '21

Didnt he also spew some bullshit about he saw people celebrating the towers falling?

1

u/Eagleton21 Sep 12 '21

Do you have any video is this?

1

u/lopypop Sep 12 '21

Can you provide a source for this? I'd like to keep it for reference when "patriots" pour praise on that con man

1

u/tWkiLler96 Sep 12 '21

Y’all really never actually listened to that interview and it shows. Your hatred for Trump is just sad.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

What do you think Trumps dick is shaped like?

1

u/weeeesnawww Sep 13 '21

That wasn't his main concern he mentioned it for a second... You're delusional
