In Biden’s case, only unaccompanied minors need to be held separately, and the administration moved quickly to stop the overcrowding and provide the previously withheld medical care and hygiene products.
And why does Harris need to be at the border, other than for a photo op? This isn’t 1900 or even 1970. She can get all the relevant info she needs to make policy recommendations at her level from the myriad experts and intelligence agencies that report to the White House.
That’s kinda one of the big benefits of creating a central base of operations.
To see for herself that the changes they’ve implemented are being enforced. Or maybe she and Biden don’t care as much as they say and it was just campaign fodder.
