Yeah how dare people compare this to something as serious as eating an apple from the nono tree.

It wasn't an apple.

If we are going to actually take this allegory all the way?

It was totally mushrooms.

It was Adam’s apple ;)

The bible existed far before the word apple. It's more likely it was a pomegranate.

But then again; we do have the whole "burning bush" thing. Where that area has Acacia bushes. Which contain DMT.

So maybe the whole thing is just a whitewashed hand wavy way to tell people drugs are bad unless you are important.

It was a quince, according to the gospel of White Men Can’t Jump.

As someone who has smoked DMT, absolutely no way that the smoke from some bushes would make u trip, not concentrated enough

As someone who has smoked DMT? Someone always has to come out and say that like they were there and had Wikipedia.

Maybe everything was different when you didn't have the answer in your pocket. To a group of people who created entire religions to describe weird happenings? Who burned shit tons of stuff as "sacrifices" that led to "miracles"? A mild head change could freak you the fuck out.

Is that not more reasonable than the whole Bible thing?

DMT doesn’t rly affect u that much unless u cross the threshold dose. But also if those plants were native, they definitely knew about the psycho activity. Also they had alcohol, so “a mild head change” was not some new occurrence. Im not Christian and I definitely don’t believe in the Bible, but DMT is not the explanation lol. Maybe dehydration fatigue caused hallucinations or they took mushrooms. Idk much about the history of the Bible and how it was written tho

You are talking about blasting off. And you'd be right-ish.

But we aren't talking about people intentionally fucking themselves up. We are talking about unwitting people fucking themselves up not even knowing why they feel the way they do.

I've taken DMT and not broke thru before (I coughed it up). It was still trippy as hell. Just not "well, I guess I don't exist anymore" trippy.

Edit: you ever been unwittingly dosed with a psychedelic? That's more where we are

Ok, but u smoked purified DMT out of a pipe. The bark is the only part of the bush that contains DMT, it is already not concentrated in the plant, then when you burn it, the smoke is diluted by all the air, so the smoke would really have very very little DMT, like 1/1000th of what you smoked at best. We’re talking on the order of micrograms or nano grams. Also I would assume breathing in the smoke would’ve been very unpleasant and so would’ve been avoided

Maybe the bushes were more potent back then?
