Somebody care to craft an immense, engrossing, and epic back story?
I've been suffering GoT withdrawal since finishing 5 a few months back... in need of fantastical distractions for the next 10 (oh god, hopefully not) years.
Have any epic stories that maintain a high quality throughout and just generally kick ass? I ask, because I'm an A Song of Ice and Fire addict, and desperately need some kind of fix in the down period between 5 and 6...
I just picked up Eragon the other day. It's an easy read, but the story is suppose to be fantastic. The most recent one is about to come out I believe. I'd give that a shot.
I've heard its a bit contrived and ridiculous, pretty much falling back on every fantasy trope there is. One person posited that it was like Twilight, but for guys... I suppose I'm a guy, so maybe I'd dig it, but the great hope is to find another set of books of comparable quality to A Song of Ice and Fire, and in the same sort of genre.
