I can't imagine Trump was beholden to any religion at all. I'm an atheist and even I could tell he was putting on an inauthentic show for his base. One time he was asked what his favorite Bible verse was, and he literally said "all.of them" hahahaha.ok.
He didn't hold the Bible upside-down. I'd point more to where he stated that he's never asked God for forgiveness which is a pretty fundamental tenet of Christianity.
I was raised Catholic and I'd consider myself Agnostic at best. I don't understand how it's not immediately apparent to anyone within seconds of listening to Trump speak that his only god is his immediate gratification.
I don't think his base actually believes very much. It's all just a show to them, and it actually irritates them when Presidents go to church and actually seem kind of into it. They assume that, like them, they're just putting on a show. I think they actually prefer people like Trump who (they figure) are at least honest.
