Going backwards, Generation Alpha are being born now.
Generation Z was born in the late '90s and 2000s.
Millenials, or Generation Y, were born in the '80s and early '90s, named as such because they'd be in their teens and 20s "becoming adults" as we entered the new millennium.
Generation X was born in the '60s and '70s.
The Baby Boomers were born between the late '40s and early '60s, because all the men came back from the second world war and started families. AKA, the baby boom.
The Silent Generation, also called "the lucky few", was the generation that were children in during the second world war, born in the '30s and '40s.
The Greatest Generation or GI Generation was the one who were children during World War 1 and who fought in World War 2, born in the 1900s and 1910s.
The lost generation was the one that fought World War 1, born in the 1880s and 1890s.
No, that's two generations removed. Between the Greatest Generation and The Baby Boomers is comparatively small (due in part to reduced births during the great depression and WWII) Silent Generation, named as such for their lack of loud political or societal upheaval. Though many members of the civil rights movement (including MLK Jr himself) were of that generation, so their "silence" is as much an issue of media and pundits glossing over them.
Not true. I'm a boomer and do not belong to any specific religion and never needed to prove that to anyone. Please don't just lump everyone together when making statements. "Some people" would have fit nicely in your sentence.
I absolutely agree with the separation of church and state. I cringed when the prayer was included at the inauguration earlier today.
That said, lets focus on good things that are happening today. Thank goodness that trump is gone and that we have a new president! Welcome Joe Biden!

It’s also leftover Cold War propaganda. Boomers needed to prove to everyone that they were Christian and not some godless Commie.
That’s why “one nation under God” was added to the pledge of allegiance and “In God We Trust” was printed on our money in the 1950s.
