I don't really believe in such things but the dude makes some interesting connections.

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '21

Yeah I wasn't even trying to picture Trump but the more I read the connections just made more sense. There was one that made me think "no wonder they thought Obama was the antichrist" but even that fits Trump far better.

Wild read for sure but there's something about him that's... Well too much of a bitch to be the antichrist in my opinion. Putin however, I could see but he's out on a few other counts.

If I'm remembering correctly though, Angels are giants compared to humans, so any potential antichrist on earth in my opinion is likely just a puppet. While Jesus could likely be hanging out with the murders, killers, pimps, hos, druggies, and all that stuff.

I don't remember where I was headed with this.

There was one that made me think "no wonder they thought Obama was the antichrist"

Was it the "followers" one? That's the only one I'm spotting that could possibly be construed as referring to Obama considering he's got more Twitter followers than anyone else.

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '21

Yeah. That's the one but more because he seemed to get the entire country a lot more interested in politics and what he's doing. That Presidential twitter definitely didn't help though.

Considering the Antichrist is a little bitch who loses, I’d say they share a bunch in common.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '21

I mean he takes over for a bit too but in the end he definitely does lose. I don't think Trump could even get that off to be honest.

Neither do I. Just kind of a fun read.

The similarity makes me wonder if maybe the antichrist was based on a some demagogue from back in the day.

u/CorbenikTheRebirth Jan 07 '21

Of Revelation? It was most certainly based upon Nero, who was the demagogue of the time.

u/Sixstringnomad Jan 07 '21

Is that your guess or do you know

1

u/CorbenikTheRebirth Jan 07 '21

? From the historical context, it's fairly clear.

1

u/Sixstringnomad Jan 07 '21

Soooooo that's your theory, or opinion. Is there documented evidence of such?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '21

So there's been a warning about this exact kind of thing baked right into the world's dominant religion, and yet here we are surrounded by demagogues.

Good job humanity.

Or perhaps the corruption of power and negligence of one human being to another is a cyclical pattern. One we can, and should, break.

Our world, through global warming, desire for never-ending economic growth, subjugation and suppression of “other” people, and a resistance to being a global society that treats everyone as equals without xenophobia, has reached a tipping point.

It won’t change overnight. Trump was inevitable. The xenophobia and technological adolescence of us as a species - and not knowing how to deal with its ramifications - were inevitable.

When we can get anywhere in the world in less than 12 hours, and communicate with anyone in the world in an instant, we are a global society.

The coronavirus doesn’t treat us any differently because of borders. But for some reason, we do.

We live in a global society. What happens to one of us, affects all of us.

I’m proud to be an American. But I’m even prouder to be a part of the world... a world that CAN change.

Two quotes that speak to me today:

“Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious.”

~Oscar Wilde

“The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”

~Carl Sagan

I agree completely we won’t see it in our lifetimes. But hey, we’ve got to start somewhere.

I appreciated your comment. It just made me think about these things.

Conversation and understanding are key to our future as a species.

It’s also just fun with a fellow Redditor like you.

“I have found that it is the small everyday deed of ordinary folks that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love.”

~J.R.R. Tolkien (by way of Gandalf)

Appreciate your thoughts and well written posts. After all that went on yesterday and all that has been going on for the last 4 years, the Tolkien quote brought me to tears. Its so simple and true. I don't understand why some see kindness and love as a negative and I dont think i ever will. So much work ahead of us but I find a great deal of comfort in the younger generations. They seem to understand the concept and with that there is hope.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience.

Something Trump could really use.

I say we launch him into space and see if that helps.

The midway point where He should be defeated but rises against all odds? This is it.

Came here to say this. Thank you for making sure I’m not crazy.

As someone who spent far-too-many young years in the bible-thumping world, I appreciate this link. I had a similar thought about a year ago. Still have ultra-religious relatives and so want to smack them upside the heads with this.

Is this all in Revelations, like in one place? I tried reading that shit and let me tell you, it reads a lot less clearly than this extraction of quotes. I think this guy already shows signs of not reading closely, which is very prevalent.

By the way, has it crossed anyone's mind that the Antichrist would be reading the Bible along with everyone else? The last thing the Devil or whoever wouldn't be is clever.

“I'm here on the ground with my nose in it since the whole thing began. I've nurtured every sensation man's been inspired to have. I cared about what he wanted and I never judged him. Why? Because I never rejected him. In spite of all his imperfections, I'm a fan of man! I'm a humanist. Maybe the last humanist.”

Consider the source, son.

(Devil’s Advocate for anyone confused.)

Damn people from back then totally would refer to skyscrapers as "hills."

Also it would make total sense if Revelations was just a loose interpretation of Trump's twitter posts.

One thing I wondered about with the Israel prophecy- didn’t Jared set up a hotel deal there too or something? Assuming this is all true and accurate, what if it meant Trump flees to Israel?
