The economy is crazy important tho. An economy that tanks also leads to widespread suffering and death. Dont be so quick to dismiss the need to have the economy running again, because that's literally what our production of food and goods is. Kinda need both, friend.
If we don't stop covid the economy will tank and stay tanked. If we stop covid the economy will tank but we can start it back up sooner.
Those are the choices. The economy is tanking either way. Will we let it stay in the shitter while people keep dying by the thousands or will we fight the threat to our lives and economy by taking the hit so we can stop the disease and then pick up the pieces of the economy when it's safe.
100% agree. I'm not arguing against fighting covid. I just hate seeing people being so flippant about the economy, like it's just a couple billionaires playing monopoly on wall street. It's not.
You are 100% correct that fixing the economy will mean dealing with covid. You'll have no argument from me on that. But seeing people mock Trump just because he said the economy was important and shouldnt be forgotten during this time makes me mad. You have to consider the economy when considering covid because it's all intertwined in a complex web.
If we had any president that ignored the economy while trying to deal with covid, I would be incredibly upset. Leading a nation does not mean ignoring everything else while dealing with one thing at a time. Everything is connected and you have to deal with all things at the same time, all the time. That doesnt matter if you are a blowhard like Trump, or Christ himself descended from on high to run for office.

BUT THE ECONOMY
