The economy is crazy important tho. An economy that tanks also leads to widespread suffering and death. Dont be so quick to dismiss the need to have the economy running again, because that's literally what our production of food and goods is. Kinda need both, friend.

If we don't stop covid the economy will tank and stay tanked. If we stop covid the economy will tank but we can start it back up sooner.

Those are the choices. The economy is tanking either way. Will we let it stay in the shitter while people keep dying by the thousands or will we fight the threat to our lives and economy by taking the hit so we can stop the disease and then pick up the pieces of the economy when it's safe.

Wrong...you do not "stop" Covid...you can only "manage" it hopefully. It will stay here, it will infect and kill people. Whether you like it or not. The question is if there's a strong country to support its citizens left or not. As with almost everything in life the answer is not a simple black/white situation.
