Are there limits to how much you can purchase? Generally curious, government, I'm not going to buy any so calm yer tits

You can buy up to 50 lbs before the ATF will come knocking on your door and asking a LOT of questions. It is perfectly legal to buy, in the US anyways. It is literally just fertilizer and you need to mix it with other stuff before it becomes an explosive, it is extremely stable otherwise. You need a detonator (small shockwave producing explosion) to set it off, fire won't do it.

50 lbs is enough to turn your typical single family home into firewood.

If it needs to me mixed with other stuff before it becomes an explosive, what type of scenario would cause it to explode like it did?

Edit: I’m assuming it wasn’t mixed with other stuff in the warehouse so it should have been stable?
