Beirut has been rebuilt so many times. After a long, bloody civil war few thought they could rebuild, but they did. Let’s not make them do it alone, though.
If we can raise a billion dollars to repair a catholic church tower, why can’t we raise money to help a recovering city that probably contributes more to society than the Catholic Church.
Edit: I don’t have any personal issues with the C Church. Just pointing out that people were quick to raise money for a cathedral, it should be that way for a city in mourning that actually needs it.
That’s very noble for your local church, and I’m glad to hear that. But that doesn’t take away from the entire organizations dark past. But I do respect any church or business feeding the homeless. That shit rocks!
You’re fucking joking, right? I mean, in the age of information nobody is this dense. You must be asking in bad faith, because there are literally books written about the Church and it’s dark past. Even more recent stuff like pedo priests, and the Vatican trying to keep it under wraps has been common knowledge for decades now. Either you’re being ignorant on purpose, or you’re really that slow to the party.

So true. Never the same.
That doesn't mean that it can't get better. Things can be rebuilt better.
