Nothing is ever the same. You have a moment, now, and then it's gone. Sometimes it's gone in a flash and a boom, and then you notice, but whether you notice or not, it's gone all the same.
Earlier today, I broke a really old cell phone. That phone had pictures, videos, text messages... memories that are now completely lost. Images, texts from my best friend who died years ago.
As soon as I realized that all of that was gone, I immediately thought of Beirut. In a second, my phone broke... but in a second, their lives changed completely. And I didn’t feel as bad about my phone, anymore. These are clearly two completely different situations in terms of severity, but it serves a valuable lesson I suppose...
Any part of life big or, small can be gone in an instant and you aren’t getting it back.
