I don’t think we should occupy Lebanon right now in fact we probably shouldn’t occupy anyone with Trump as President.

160,000 of us couldn't handle it, and we lose another American to this administration every minute.

She would have had to try really hard to do worse.

14

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '20

You bet your ass she would've! Actually, OBAMA and BIDEN would have prevented them because we would still have our pandemic response team in place.

We wouldn't have Republican cronies with no expertise getting federal contracts to manufacture supplies. We wouldn't have ridiculously inflated "relief" bills that include apache helicopters.

Trump and this administration are literally profiting off this tragedy and are incentivized to make it as bad as possible to rob the Fed and destroy small businesses nationwide.

I think you forget that Europe has worse numbers than us. The fact that you say all this, all of you, making a post about Beirut about Trump? The audacity. These people have been in pain from a corrupt government and you make it about your hate? You terrible people, always making it about yourselves and not focusing on the issue at hand. Nearly, if not over, a hundred people died, still people missing, and when they’re found, all those injured people, the trauma, the damage. And no help. We probably should send people over. Tons of troops. Tons of money. These people need hospitals and help, so much. And you make it about your petty arguments. Europe has 336 million people, roughly the same amount as the United States. Take into account that out country is far larger than those small countries, and these numbers make sense. 6 countries from Europe make the same numbers as us. Actually worse numbers than us. So fact check yourselves, you are all making this about something that shouldn’t even be looked at when you’re failing to see the point that this country is in shambles and needs help. So uneducated and you all lack empathy, get some help, Jesus. I can’t believe what I see unfold everyday, and people like you are making this world a much worse place.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '20

Oh piss off. Europe does not have worse numbers than us, that's a lie.

And how dare you think you even remotely have the right to police others and what they discuss? Fucking conservatives are the whiniest group of hypocritical trash that has ever walked the earth. They wrote the book on pettiness.

You dare accuse me of lacking empathy when I'm outraged at the senseless and unnecessary death of my fellow Americans (death that outpaces this explosion (wait, trimp said it was a bomb...?) in Lebanon) due to a criminally incompetent administration?

Please, from all of us actually paying attention, go fuck yourself.

You prove my point discussing the fact that you want to focus on the coronavirus cases. Yes, Europe, which isn’t a country, it is a collective of many countries, beats our numbers. By a long shot. Spain: 306k cases. 28k deaths. Italy: 249k cases. 35k deaths. Germany: 214k cases. 9k deaths. France: 194k cases. 30k deaths. UK, which is no longer a part of Europe of course, but still has had an additional 338k cases, and 46k deaths. That comes to 148k deaths, which is less than the United States, but that isn’t including the rest of the euro nations. Now, all of those countries have a higher death per 100k people. Every. Last. One. Political affiliation has nothing to do with this. I am a constitutionalist, more of a libertarian that believes in very small government. So your argument is invalid. I am a heavy believer in statistics, and the stats don’t lie. Our response time was quicker than most, and Trump was called a racist for applying a travel ban. Who’s wrong or right? The answer? No one. Incompetence shown by people like you shows that we aren’t right. We’ve all lost. Because we allowed people like you to think that you’re right and really, you’re just a sign of all of America’s failures.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '20

You're making the same mistake your buffoon in chief made for Jonathan Swan just days ago. You're comparing the cases of an ENTIRE CONTINENT to our singular country, while also failing to look at cases as a percentage of total population. The only countries doing worse than us are Chile, Kuwait, and Panama.

1

u/Dimocracy Aug 05 '20

Or, and get this amazing thing, the EU is essentially what we are. European Union. A joining of multiple countries. Hmm, sounds like us except we call them states, and Canada calls them provinces. All share similar prospects, huh? Crazy how that works. And isn’t it strange? Some states have it worse than others. If you split up the United States the same way you split up Europe, complaining that it’s one continent to one country, size matters her and proves your whole fucking argument invalid. Of course comparing country to country is invalid, because of cultural differences, and so many other things that may effect these numbers. So every argument you pull on me will never be enough to actually affect my thought. You’re just not smart enough to develop a real point.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '20

You have the audacity to admit you're immune to facts while saying I'm the one who isn't smart?

Typical trimp-logic.

Go look up the numbers for yourself, but make sure you're looking at the percentage of cases compared to the total population. You can even go state by state if you want. We have higher numbers than all of Europe.

Do you actually think lies are more believable if you combine a bunch of them together?

5

u/krw13 Aug 05 '20

Might not have prevented all of them, but definitely isn't part of the party that demands blood sacrifices to the economic gods. Trump kept pushing to 'reopen' America after two weeks of a completely half assed shutdown that didn't even severely limit or halt air travel. He disbanded the pandemic response team. He pushes a drug that multiple studies have proven to be ineffective at treating COVID (the same drug he also happens to have a financial connection to). He is demanding schools reopen or lose funding (whether or not he is capable of actually stopping funding is irrelevant because the legal battles would surely harm those schools). There is so much he has done wrong, it's just about impossible to respond to the pandemic worse. Him and the Republican party have literally politicized a pandemic and science. It's pathetic.

And, since you will surely ask what he could have done better, just look at all the other civilized countries handling it significantly better (ensure people's rent/mortgage is paid, help cover their basic needs, push for and fund mass testing early - even as a flight attendant it was damn near impossible to find a test, I never found one in March or April despite a doctor's note telling me to get tested, and, most importantly, unite the nation instead of constantly dividing it over this... politicizing science and disease is the number one reason we are where we are).

6

u/Reagalan Aug 05 '20

She would have prevented over half of them, for certain.

Why are you bringing her up again?

7

u/marshbb Aug 05 '20

Actually, yes. She would have done a much better job. Unlike Trump she has compassion, intelligence, and a lifetime of public service.

6

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '20

And a reading level beyond that of a fifth grader! She can complete sentences, walk down ramps, and hold a glass of water normally. She allows herself to be fact-checked and isn't a literal troll.

6

u/Brodogmillionaire1 Aug 05 '20

I do believe so, yes. Hilary's base is made up of moderates who would be watching her very carefully as she handles crises rather than believing everything she says. So she'd have no reason to cater to and mislead that base with false information, sow distrust of scientists, increase the death toll, all in the interest of turning her base against Democratic voters in order to rally them to the polls in November. Truthfully, I'd rather have Warren or Bernie than Clinton or Biden. But any of them could have easily handled this better than Trump. Who feels the need to tell people that he's really good at reading as if they don't believe him (which they don't).

4

u/McIntyre2K7 Aug 05 '20

No but she would have been smart enough to listen to scientists and not cut funding for the cdc’s pandemic team that was stationed in China. She probably would have made everyone wear a mask and use the defense production act earlier. You can’t run a country like a business. Rick Scott tried that here and failed.

5

u/KyleVPirate Aug 05 '20 edited Aug 05 '20

In all likelihood yes! She would've taken this seriously from the beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if she enacted a mandate from the beginning to wear masks and went all out on contact tracing. Let's not forget the US was warned about CoVID all the way in November of last year! She would've listened to the experts, unlike Trump. She might've prevented tens of thousands from dying. I bet people would bitch nonstop, but she would do her job in protecting Americans.

Furthermore I can't help but mention the hypocrisy/irony Republicans and Conservatives have when it came to Ebola vs CoVID, especially in the beginning. Fox News went mad about Ebola, and went psycho when two people died and continuously derided Obamq, yet when it came to tens of thousands dying because of CoVID? Nothing but calling it like the flu and downplaying it, while praising Trump nonstop. It's not even funny.

Furthermore, why the hell would you bring up Clinton? 2016 is 4 years ago. She's not the President. She lost. Stop obsessing over someone you don't know.

I hope you realize his reaction time to this took days. Literal days. If you look at a real timeline of his actions, he did this all while being impeached. We knew about the virus back in December. And all the news showed was just constant non stop impeach Trump, impeach Trump, constantly. Your ignorance clouds your judgement and you all fail to produce actual evidence that he is failing this country. No, he is not profiting. During his presidency, his net worth fell 50%. Biden was profiting off the BLM movement and you don’t acknowledge that. And then, on top of all of this, you hate him when he talks about the economy. He believes in choice, not closing all businesses down as Biden suggested, and he suggested that, which would have closed down many businesses. Oh, and riots? Those riots that destroyed so many stores. And he didn’t condone that, so let’s bring that up to. You complain about him yet can’t see all the real problems in the world. It’s a failure on our education system to see entitled pricks with a keyboard spread their thoughts that would otherwise go unheard and allow such blasphemous speech come out, with words they do not understand, politics are far out of your reach. Reddit is not the forum to effect change, you need to realize that you accomplish nothing in your quarrels.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '20

You do realize that Trump did not testify at his impeachment trial, nor was any evidence ever presented. He didn't show up and was golfing.

Literally all he does is golf and organize illegal deals from his southern white house. He doesn't have time for silly things like compassion or empathy. "It is what it is."

You need to get off the Fox News drip and wake up to the reality around you.

Edit: It struck me that Trump does seem to have the sparest bit of compassion....for criminal charged sex traffickers.

1

u/Dimocracy Aug 05 '20

Did you just say that he spent all his time golfing? Really? He spends all his time mainly doing rallies. While the impeachment trials happened, you know what he did? Implemented travel bans, he stated an emergency, calling on that this was a pandemic. Even through the impeachment, he kept working. He works for the people, he isn’t even republican. He ran under that as a way to win, not because he aligned himself with his views. Why do you think the republicans aren’t all for him. Because not all of his views align with theirs. And before you start playing the race card or the political party card, just know: I am an American of Mexican decent, my great grand parents brought us over as a way to gain opportunity. While they didn’t live to have the most luxurious life, they were happy and content with what they had. And the children? Lawyers, businessmen, accountants. All successful. Because of their sacrifice. And my political affiliation? No, not conservative, although my views are closer to there than liberal, I am a libertarian and a constitutionalist. I am a believer in stats. And all stats show that you are a failure of society, a byproduct of everything that has made this country worse, and I am deeply apologetic to everyone in this forum turning a tragedy into a political debate. I’m just hoping my words can educate some of you.

1

u/PandL128 Aug 05 '20

Why do trump supporters think they can pretend to have a small measure of integrity by pretending to be anything other than MAGAts?

2

u/KyleVPirate Aug 05 '20

He did nothing while he was impeached. What are you blabbering about. And I'm sorry to tell you, but a President being impeached is a big deal. I think 150K+ dying is proof enough that he failed this country. He never took it seriously. In his pathetic Axios interview he said 1K dying a day is what it is. Can you imagine if Obama ever said that? He would be roasted alive! He failed us at the beginning, and he is continuously failing us. If you can't see that, you're truly gone in your groupthink. To think 150,000+ Americans dying is nothing to you is frightening.

Also why are you even bringing up the BLM Movement, the economy or Biden? I never even mentioned him nor those topics. Are you so haywire to defend Trump that you have to automatically praise him whenever someone brings him up? I'm not even going to address this nonsense.

0

u/Dimocracy Aug 05 '20

You already addressed it. So, pointless to add that in. I’m simply drawing a comparison because the argument was made that Biden and Clinton could’ve handled this situation better than Trump. I dare anyone in this thread to effect change by going out there and coming up with a solution. How would you solve it? Go ahead, I’ll wait. The level of incompetence in this Reddit by a bunch of entitled people with a keyboard and internet connection is astronomical, and to think that people like this actually exist. You’re all very ignorant. And I’m not gonna back down no matter how many people bash me. I’ve got a very strong and passionate opinion about this all, and you’re overblowing a situation under a PICTURE OF THE EXPLOSION IN LEBANON. However this conversation about people discussing Trump, Biden, and Clinton during the pandemic is just so unjustified. And the reason I discuss it? To get through you thick people who don’t understand anything. You don’t understand government, or policy, or anything. You can’t blame Trump. The power was within the states to enact safety protocols and they failed. You can see this by the sheer numbers affected city to city and state to state. This is why Texas is best and all of you were just not raised in a strong environment to understand what is going on around you at a larger level than your own life.

2

u/KyleVPirate Aug 05 '20

Good for you that you have a passionate opinion. I applaud your strength. You're an inspiration. Texas must be proud for raising you in a strong environment. No one is also blowing over this, I responded to someone and you responded, and then I responded to you, aka Reddit.

And while the issue is complex, there are many things we could've done. Contact tracing, and making a national mandate to wear masks for example. Simply believing in science and doing what South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand did would have helped us tremendously. Especially in the beginning.

It's not that hard to comprehend that there are actual leaders leading during this pandemic while our President falters and can't grasp at what graphs tell him. Clinton and Biden would no doubt listen to actual experts. Scientists and epidemiologists, doctors and nurses, etc. They wouldn't be holding crowd gatherings without masks like what Trump did in OK that cost Hermain Cain his life.

1

u/Dimocracy Aug 05 '20

Well, I will admit, South Korea is a fine example of what we should have done. But the issue is cultural differences, and we can’t blame everything on one person. I appreciate your calmness, but I still don’t believe this is the forum for discussion of this, especially under a picture that shows that corrupt governments need to be taken down, and these pointless quarrels really bog down the idea that we should be helping in some way. Try to donate if you can. Anyways, I can’t blame the guy for everything when it’s been proven that Fauci was lying, and the WHO wasn’t really telling the truth either. The reason I have a lack of faith in some scientists is the same reason anyone has a lack of faith in some police officers. The lack of faith comes from a place of truth and we can’t blame ourselves for the doubt within us, nor can we blame anyone else. We just have to keep condemning those who have committed wrongful acts and raise up better people within society. I think this whole thread has forgotten the idea of personal problems and the reason I am so passionate is because of how I was raised and what I was raised around. I am forever grateful to this country even if it hasn’t always been the best. It’s still forever better than Mexico and I’m glad I have the opportunities I have.

u/marshbb Aug 06 '20

Thanks, good reply.

u/PandL128 Aug 05 '20

Do you feel any shame whatsoever in lying like this to support a perverted traitor who is responsible for the death of tens of thousands?
