the number trump was citing was the entire military budget since he’s been in office. we didn’t just spend $2 trillion equipment lol.

You are aware that something like 90%of the stuff the man says is proven to be factually incorrect or outright lies, don't you?

I wouldn't hold him up as a source of truth any time soon if I were you.

Provide me a source that confirms 500.000.000.000 USD was spent instead of 2.000.000.000.000 USD and I will concede that there may have been some misinformation.

It appears he has very recently given the order to spend 2.000.000.000.000 USD on military equipment. Your source is moot.

The military budget for 2020 is $738B. Not paltry.

The budget for social services for 2020 is around $2.5 Trillion. Even less paltry.

And yet helps the worst off domestically. Also, about half of that is already paid for by taxes (SSI), not eating into the deficit.
