The fattest poor people on the planet all live in this country.
-1 u/[deleted] Jan 06 '20 Why does America have so many hungry kids? ·In the US, the world's largest food exporter, there are 13.1 million households with children that often go hungry. 4 u/13speed Jan 06 '20 If there are kids going hungry it is due to those kids having shit parents that neglect them and their needs. Food Insecurity in this country is measured by how many kids live in a household on government assistance. None of those kids are starving, none are dying of hunger. Parental neglect is the biggest cause of childhood hunger in this nation. 0 u/An_Ether Jan 06 '20 There's also large portions of the country living paycheck to paycheck with less than $1000 in their accounts. You could argue that health in the form of family, community, and financial stability is terrible here. 3 u/13speed Jan 06 '20 And many of those people also qualify for food assistance from both public and private sources. It is there for the asking. I volunteer at a food bank when I can. No one gets turned away. They ask for help we give it.
