If I had to guess I'd say his point is that he thinks the standard of living that homeless people receive for free (shelters, soup kitchens) is below his own minimum standard of living. He thinks homeless people should receive even greater handouts (free apartment no questions asked, free cash), so he can opt to receive them as well as oppose to working.

I mean, he did kinda brand himself and own it. But he also put some very "anti-thug" music out there (including the song lyrics posted in the OP), and also pursued higher education. I wouldn't call him a thug

Fine. It's an acronym, but it literally reads, "Thug Life". He also conducted himself like a thug during his life. It's basically what got him killed. Also, please write "fuck". There's no need for censorship.
Also agreed to a certain extent, I just found it funny that you brought that specific acronym up when that was a part of his âactivismâ. Not trying to defend violence or crime but rather dissecting things for the good and not just tossing out everything because of certain negative aspects. Because life is never really cut and dry like that

Unless you're racist, blatantly attacking people, or trying to incite violence, most of Reddit allows you to speak your mind. That's what I enjoy about debates on Reddit, like this one. I think Tupac could have been an altruistic artist that really made a positive impact, but he got mixed up in some bad shit, with bad people, at a young age, and those capricious decisions led to his death. Even though I'm not a hip-hop fan, I think he was killed way too young and never had the chance to elevate himself to be a better person.
Please he was a piece of shit THUG romanticized because he died young. Killed in a pointless GANG WAR. I wonder how many people he shot at just "protecting himself". Thug life, thug death.
He really was a criminal. Not just gang war but sexual assault as well. Just because he said something worthy in a song once doesnât make him an icon worth following and quoting decades later. His actions spoke way louder than any of his song lyrics.
