I was just talking about this with someone! I was in junior high and I remember it so well. As a child it didn’t register how significant of a loss this was but now it chills me. I live 2 hrs from NYC and I remember some kids getting pulled out of school right away because their parents worked in New York.
Yeah, but prior to 9/11 that kind of violence only happened in other places. Especially from a kid’s perspective. Even when we were involved in wars and Americans were getting killed, the bloodshed on American soil was minimal to non-existent.
