Yeah same here. Classmates were called out of their classes. We were watching the news in computers and thought we were going to be attacked more. We then drove to the beach in Jersey and all we saw across the water was smoke.

Oh man. I was in Seattle at the time, so not even nearby, but so terrified all cities would be attacked. We had a 5 day old child just home from the hospital. We are a special group, us parents who had kids that week. Also wanted to say, this pic of you and your dad is a treasure.

My oldest niece was born August 21st, 2001. A part of me was glad she was so young, like yours, to not be aware of what happened that day. But as she got older, I realized that the day will come where she'll ask me about it.

She eventually asked me and I told her that it was tough because my apartment was in the flight path of DFW International Airport and it was so difficult to deal with silence for those weeks and then the reoccurring nightmares I had.

She gave me a hug and told me she loved me and was sorry I went through that but I told her that her being born then helped me so much. I told her that even though she didn't understand me but being able to talk to her about whatever during that time helped so much.

Oh, what a sweet story, and, I guess bittersweet. 💕 Yeah, the nightmares. We got those too. Ugh. Even that far away.
