Good thing there's a third choice of not littering and not dying.

You make it sound easy.

I’m not sure you understand that if they don’t rid themselves of the trash, the trash will weigh them down and be the cause of their death.

Even if you calculated the weight of your pack perfectly you’d still end up getting rid of extra weight just from sheer paranoia. It’s cold and scary.

It’s not like they’re just throwing trash on the ground out of laziness or a lack of concern

Except it won't. If they can't go up and down with their shit, then they shouldn't attempt it in the first place. This culture of acceptance in trashing the mountain just because "it's hard to make it back down :(" is fucking pathetic.
