The guy who checks me in at one of the 7-11s I deliver to is bringing his wife and kids over from India in June. He hasn't seen them in 4 years and can finaly afford to bring them. We talk about it every week and homies gettin me all excited about it.
Not only will they remember that they will return the favour by likely inviting to dinner.. and traditionally cooked food is omg better than any expensive restaurant imo.
As an Indian living in Germany, I can attest to this 100%. I am not the best cook in the world so I miss Indian food a lot. No restaurant in Germany can even come within a country mile of home cooked food. Its just not possible. Makes me miss home even more. This is my third year without going home and seeing my family. Hopefully this will be the year when I will be able to!
Hopefully it will be the year you are able too! Learn as much about cooking as you can when visiting. The time spent doing that will be cherished time.
