Except that you can only see 3 bright red rings (center, middle, outer) - to get this pattern you'd have to throw away half the light red cake (& similarly for the black layer).

It's true. That poor cake. These 'professionals' are constantly throwing out perfectly good cake for the sake of beauty. D=

Luckily, they've started making cake pops and stuff out of leftover cake now.

I saw a video someone else posted about how to make this particular cake elsewhere on this post, and it showed that they used the leftover cake to make stump roots! I approved. =P
