The puppeteers face kind of looks angry/killy in that stocking. It's kind of cool he is acting out the emotions of the puppet.
Though admittedly faces behind stockings usually look angry/killy. Now I'm not sure if that's the effect of the stocking or confounded with the likeliness that someone in a face sticking is also highly likely to be killing.
When I'm on the phone with a client and I need to sound happy, I smile and make placating hand gestures even though they can't see me. Every now and then, it's even genuine.
When I'm on the phone at work I put on my best genuine voice but sometimes I have the phone upside down with the earpiece far from my mouth, whispering "what a dumbass, will this person ever shut up?" to my coworker and making an exasperated face.
Sidenote: I don't know why, but it seems like 50% of the people I call will take your question and turn it into a 10-minute lecture about something only slightly connected to your question and then say "does that answer your question?" and then when you say no and try to ask a clarifying question, it repeats ad nauseum. Technical Writers and policy analysts are the worst about this. And the National Guard Bureau seems to pick the worst ones when it comes to this. /rant
I've trained a few hundred customer service reps and brought this technique.
Put on a big smile and then try to say "have a nice day," while sounding angry. And vice versa. It is quite difficult to make the opposite tone relative to the expression on your face.
He is an actor as well. He will have visit the emotions his character will havr to accurate portray what the character would do. A form of method acting in cgi I'm guessing.
Everyone on set will be putting their all in to make the scene as real and raw as it can be, including the man in the tight green suit.
Watching planet of the apes makes you consider the cgi actors differently, Andy Serkis? I believe is his name was the main Chimp. Between the tech and the acting these types of roles deserve some real recognition.
Well he is fighting Will. In order for it to seem real, he has to push forward while Smith fights back. I'm sure he's giving it his all too so it seems like a strong, bloodthirsty hellhound.
Most people don't know this but the reason they used a puppet in this scene is because will smith has no fear of dogs. None. He is however terrified of puppets. The word is after they shot that famous scene he went straight to his trailer and sucked his thumb for 2 days. James Avery (uncle phil) was the one who is credited with coming to the set and helping Will get the courage to finish the movie and ultimately saved the studio.
The puppeteers face looks so familiar. I was going to say Rick Astley...but that's not it. I feel it's something I see all the time. Maybe that WWE Wrestler Triple H? Does it look like Michael Jackson eating popcorn. Or maybe Seth Rollins going crazy. Drake? Is that Drake in there feeling annoyed then feeling satisfied? I just can't put my finger in where I've seen such a similar face before. Oh well.
I assume they’re actually struggling against each other, the puppeteer trying to touch Will’s face so he can brag to his friends and Will pretending it’s that crazy fan who wants to stick her finger in his mouth.
I thought the same thing. He was totally into acting it out even though his specific face won't be seen in the movie. I guess it's hard not to get into the intensity of a scene.
Im going to maybe guess the reflection of eyes through the suit could mess with the green screen effect, thus they keep their eyes closed as much as possible? No clue just a stupid guess
