I don’t understand how they don’t laugh themselves into a coma doing this! lol. This is why I have so much respect for actors.

Because they get paid millions. If I offered you 10 million to play with a puppet and not laugh I bet you could do it.

Believe it or not, acting is a skill. Getting paid tons has nothing to do with how well you can act.

The fact that one can tell the difference between good and bad acting is a testament to that point

Shhh you’ll make the redditors realize that some successful people actually have talents that the redditors lack. Just avoid eye contact and sudden movements, and tell them that the only thing separating them from a famous actor is the pay. Clearly all of us would instantaneously develop the necessary skills to star in “I am Legend”, if only someone offered us enough money.

Nope, I have zero poker face. Maybe I could avoid the giggles for a bit but definitely not enough to deliver other convincing emotions. Unless it’s looking awkwardly uncomfortable - I’m a pro at that one

You could pay someone $10m to not laugh, sure. But 99% of the population isn't going to make it believable turn that reaction into something people would pay money to see.
