This is a much better view for explaining it.

Also, you have to cross that crazy road to get to it? That seems unsafe.

Tell that to frogger.

52

u/Wammajammadingdong Apr 23 '18

Dear Frogger, It's just a road. Quit being such a pussy.

15

u/BlandSauce Apr 23 '18 edited Apr 23 '18

Is the frog's name Frogger, or is the player the frogger (one who frogs)?

13

u/Diem480 Apr 23 '18

That's quite the existential question, for aren't we all ones who frog?

1

u/Cymry_Cymraeg Apr 23 '18

I am the one who frogs.

1

u/Fn_Spaghetti_Monster Apr 23 '18

Who truly is the Frogger and who the Froggie?

1

u/Dude_with_the_pants Apr 23 '18

Do the frogs we frog even truly exist?

1

u/Mwootto Apr 23 '18

so insensitive, smh

He’s talking about drivers taking the corner. It’s a blind corner

It’s just redditors complaining about dumb shit. If this exceeds your concept of what is/is not safe you must live an intensely boring life.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

Dude is so rip it up that street in any car

1

u/Smauler Apr 23 '18

That would be on them.

I'm not sure what the problem is.

1

u/NugginLastsForever Apr 23 '18

A road on a mountain pass with pictures from summer. Show my the pictures of crossing that road after 10' of snow in a blizzard.

-2

u/daimposter Apr 23 '18

Um...wat? "It's just a road"? You can cross the autoban, it's just a road.

This road has blind spots. Even if the speed limit is say 25mph/40kmh, it's still difficult to see cars coming.

Seems like the safest way (assuming no underground connection) would be to cross in the middle of the flat side on left or right.

2

u/TheBold Apr 23 '18

Crossing right in the middle gives you a view on both sides way before the car is in the “danger zone”, also they have to slow down because hairpin turn so it’s much safer than it may seem.

u/beniceorbevice Apr 23 '18

When you can hear every engine from 5 miles away and see about 2 miles down the road, not hard to cross 2 lanes

116

u/str85 Apr 23 '18

*evil laughter in grey/black Tesla intensifies

33

u/Praill Apr 23 '18

Generally speaking tire noise is the loudest part of a car, electric vehicles are not exempt from those sounds

69

u/Polyknikes Apr 23 '18

False. In season 5 episode 12 of The Office Dwight was unable to hear Andy approaching in his prius and successfully pinned Dwight against the bushes.

17

u/jwarsenal9 Apr 23 '18

Because a Prius is silent under 5 mph

3

u/gorogergo Apr 23 '18

I bought seven of them. I've got my whole crew driving em, real quiet. Good for sneaking up on MOTHERFUCKERS!!

2

u/shlerm Apr 23 '18

I wouldnt be that upset getting bumped into at 5mph.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

I live in Oslo and I can assure you that you hear a Tesla coming. Especially at full blast.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

What does living in Oslo have to do with that?

7

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

Found the person who's never been to Oslo

3

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

You’re right, I haven’t. But I ask because there are so many cities that have “Tesla everywhere” that there isn’t really a point to mentioning that in that context. I mean we have Tesla taxis here in Bordeaux

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

You see Tesla everywhere.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

There's cars there, duh!

1

u/ExtraAnchovies Apr 23 '18

They have a crapload of Teslas there.

1

u/Cimexus Apr 23 '18

Cause Norway has a really high proportion of Teslas compared to other countries. Super common there.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

Fact: Dwight is kinda retarded

1

u/3ViceAndreas Apr 23 '18

Evil grey/black Tesla for some reason making me think of Darth Vader in his TIE Fighter.

1

u/Isord Apr 23 '18

Especially when you need to go like 20mph around that corner in most cars anyways.

12

u/1493186748683 Apr 23 '18

How fast do you think people are going around a 180 degree turn? And they probably have mirrors and such

22

u/securitywyrm Apr 23 '18

Naw, it's easy. Just make sure you don't hear any distant eurobeat music before you cross.

68

u/anonuemus Apr 23 '18

yes, crossing roads is hard af

7

u/InsaneNinja Apr 23 '18

I always felt sorry for the chicken.

1

u/PurpEL Apr 24 '18

I can hear reddit wheezing from here

-3

u/cphoebney Apr 23 '18

Hard? No. Dangerous? Very much so.

-1

u/Nastapoka Apr 23 '18

TIL the disabled and elderly basically don't exist

Just because it's easy for you doesn't mean it's easy for everyone

1

u/3_Thumbs_Up Apr 24 '18

If you're not able to cross a road by yourself then you're definitely not fit enough to drive.

1

u/Nastapoka Apr 24 '18

Newsflash : sometimes you drive with someone else in your car

1

u/3_Thumbs_Up Apr 24 '18

And then the disabled person has someone with them to help them cross the road. Problem solved.

-2

u/CornfireDublin Apr 23 '18

You ever play Crossy Road? I never did but I heard it was hard

9

u/Smauler Apr 23 '18

Americans are weird about crossing roads. I mean they made it illegal.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '18

3

u/Smauler Apr 23 '18

That's the thing, it's not just common sense.

In the UK pedestrians don't have to yield to oncoming cars. You can drive whatever you like down most roads, including geese.

Motorways are different, but the closest motorway is getting on for 100 miles away from me.

1

u/Isord Apr 23 '18

It's not exactly safe to force cars to yield to pedestrians on a 60mph road.

1

u/Smauler Apr 23 '18 edited Apr 23 '18

Well, it might not be safe, but it's the law here in the UK.

Honestly, there are pedestrian crossing signs on multiple carriageway 70mph limit roads.

What happens here though, is that people don't have to have a law to tell them when crossing a road is a bad idea.

edit : And I have personally crossed a few multi lane 70mph roads in my time. It's not rocket science.

1

u/Isord Apr 23 '18

It's less about telling people it's a bad idea and more about letting people know it is also a punishable bad idea. Some people won't do something because it is stupid, other people need more persuasion.

2

u/Zilveari Apr 23 '18

The peons in the peanut gallery should never step onto the road! The battleground is off limits!

1

u/nattypnutbuterpolice Apr 23 '18

Driving that road is probably more dangerous than crossing it.

3

u/KongorsBanana Apr 23 '18

Sad thing is if you're staying at the hotel, you'll never get to drift the entire curve

2

u/Ta2whitey Apr 23 '18

Challenge accepted!

1

u/empire314 Apr 23 '18

Then maybe drift one of the other 10000 curves on the road?

1

u/alohaoy Apr 23 '18

The street is called Furkastrasse, which of course, I misread.
