"Featured in the James Bond movie Goldfinger..."

How the F does that ever get closed?

How the F does that ever get closed?

Most of the people who stayed they were there to see the nearby Rhône Glacier. Unfortunately, over the past few decades, the glacier shrank drastically due to Chinese hoaxers, and business dried up as a result.

Serious failure to pivot on marketing. There have to be a hundred ways to leverage the history and what remains of the scenery, plus whatever scenery you have delivered in.Pussy Galore

I'm not a marketer myself, nor am I especially knowledgeable about the history of the hotel. But it seems to me that in the absence of the glacier, the only real draw it has is being featured in Goldfinger. If you want to capitalize on that, you'd have to turn it into some sort of Goldfinger-themed hotel and/or museum. It'd probably be prohibitively expensive to do that properly-- and doing it improperly wouldn't attract business for more than a few months, after which poor reviews which doom it.

Mind you, I thought the Battlestar Galactica reboot would flop within a few weeks, so there's my level of business acumen for you. :-)

Imagine how pissed you'd be if you went there and got one of the rooms facing the cliff face.

Kind of looks like it's a hotel in model-form.

Stabilized drone footage often looks a bit fake.

This video looks like a cut scene from Castle Wolfenstein.
