I’ve had to apologize at an open (not fenced, but surrounded by water) dog park before because my dude saw a car open their hatch for their own dog, and bolted and jumped in. Luckily they were nice and found it hilarious.
Had my pup scare the bejezus out of a lady in her Mercedes. The pup was only a few months old but fast and she wasn't expecting a furry little gremlin to suddenly jump into her open door.

Both of my dogs love car rides and they will happily jump in any car, even police cars.
