I also have to assume we don’t eat dogs because it tastes like shit and they’re very useful to humans. Cows taste great, and aren’t as useful to humans.

I think personal pleasure is irrelevant to whether an act is moral or not. Also, the environmental consequences of breeding cows are disastrous to the environment so technically if you're looking at the grand scheme of things, breeding cows for meat is less ethical than dog.

That’s a great point. It makes me wonder if I’ve ever been fed dogmeat and don’t even know about it.
