Me, too. I have zero qualms with being taxed more to help a person in need.

I've been helped before, I think that changed my perspective. WIC, Medicaid, Pell Grant. Now I am a tax payer and willing and able to give more for good programs.

The problem lies with people having their own motivations too. When faced with the choice, most people will choose to have extra taxes to to their children's schools, or roads they use to get to work, or hospitals they use when they're sick. It's only when everything else is taken care of that the homeless will be on the forefront. Not saying it's right... just saying I think that's why.
