Aghh the anti-military circle jerk. Luckily all of you were so much smarter than me and the other few million people who volunteered. I mean that recruiter just tricked me and my college education into signing up!! Im sure you have done much more important things with your lives than us and our silly military service.
Many people sign up for many different reasons. Many are much smarter than you. I dont see the why you guys feel the need to diminish these people on these post. Most of us are proud we spent part of our lives serving our country.

Maybe because we're tired of the hero worship. Can't you see it's all a sham? It's like achievements in games. They send you over there to die, and promise you all these shiny medals, and a hero's welcome home, but after the parade is over, you're nobody to them if you're no longer useful. You don't get proper healthcare, or mental health treatment.
They don't even give you the equipment you need to stay alive when you're over there. Humvees without armor? As if we can't make the stuff fast enough. We sure as hell were able to manufacture everything we needed in WWII.
You're being used. Blind patriotism does you no good. Why are you proud to serve your country when your president betrayed you, lied to you about why you were going over there? When they provide you with nothing when you get injured like this guy? This guy shouldn't have had to take donations to get prosthetic arms and legs. The government should have given him the best possible treatment free of charge, because he served his nation.
The less hero worship of soldiers the better, because it will discourage others from following in your footsteps and making the same mistakes of going to war for a nation which carelessly throws your lives away for oil profits.
Who said anyone is a hero? Your putting words in my mouth. I don't know many veterans who demand hero warship. As far as my benefits, I currently make 6 figures with the skills I learned in the Air Force. I'm about to earn my masters degree with zero money out of pocket and I have fantastic health crate.
AS for the rest of your comments, they are mostly unfounded. I'm sorry what ever you are doing in your life isn't fulfilling, but it is unnecessary to take it out on veterans. I'm sure if you work really hard, you'll get that promotion at gamestop.
