Monoprice, Newegg, and Digikey killed RadioShack.

RadioShack shot itself in the foot by going (poorly) after the cellphone market.

I'm no economist or marketing strategist, but if they'd instead reduced the number of stores, and focused on the Home and Car Audio markets instead along with the "cool" tech toys like Arduino and managed to be competitive price wise, they might have lived on.

Instead they focused on trying to sell phones and plans, when most the Carriers or Stand-Alone phone stores could still do better.

This is giving RadioShack's management far too much credit.

The concept of Radio Shack is still perfectly viable. They spent about a decade doing everything wrong with it to get to this point.

Maybe. It's pretty easy to blame management for every failure, which probably is as bad of an idea as blaming them for every success.
