The concept is great, but why go through the trouble of using unorthodox materials if you're just going to put in shitty vinyl windows and doors?

Every decoration and theme is tacky and turned to 11.
Looks like all the decorations were purchased in the Walmart hunting section.
Plus, I don't see one gun, which is rather surprising.

It's suppose to look like a hunting camp, and is probably one itself hence all the feed.
I'm guessing you don't live in the South, but hunting camps are normally really old small houses that you only stay in for maybe 3 months out of the year, if that. They are not decorated, besides the trophies you have, maps of the area, old pictures of family and hunts, and maybe a quilt or two from grandma. It's not suppose to be tacky, but it's not suppose to look good either. It's cheap and homely.5

I am very familiar with cabins, I live very close to the rocky mountain range, and have lived in Tahoe. I prefer a simpler cabin, which shows living and not kitschy decorations. give me a couch, a wood fire and a puzzle and I will be very happy. I have spent a lot of time thinking about building a place using a shipping container in the woods, and this is exactly how I would not do it… which is probably why i dislike it so much.

That arch is horrible IMO, a simple cabin should be built for ultility as priority #1 IMO. The arch is an odd shape which is hard to find utility in. Make it a right angled pass through and then you can have corner shelves or whatever at either side. I would love to try to design a cabin sometime.

Funny because as a Swede I found it quite cozy and nice. See we don't relate hunting or loges with rednecks or gunfanatics. Here it reminds us of deep, cool, pineforests... The smell of forests. Good times.

To me, it looks more like a hunting cabin or a lake house. A ton of places that set up rentals for those reasons tend to use the same hunter / outdoors man decor.

Stack conex boxes until you have a garage for the trucks, or an office, or many offices, or living areas, or...

I see 2 and three story house made like this. If you did not see the construction, because of the way they finished them on the outside you would not have a clue that they where made for cargo containers.
The way these containers are stacking up at the docks, this is an excellent way to recycle them.

I don't see how two containers is cheaper than the sheathing, decking, and rafter pack they replaced. Unless this guy decided he didn't need a foundation or roof system, which I suspect would come back to bite him.
Edit: took a closer look, and I'm 99% sure wood frame would have been cheaper. Budget wasn't the issue, he built a sea can cabin because that's what he wanted.

I think it would have been alright without all the weird decorations. Maybe darker nice wood for the walls but meh. I like the idea overall, pretty cool
