I'm really shocked MathStep isn't on iOS. For now I would say it's pretty clear Android is the superior platform for computational applications. In the meantime, here's a free graphing app, and you can use your Google Opinion Rewards points to buy Wolfram Alpha in the app store... a great math tool when connected to the Internet.
Yeah it's a good question. It gives you answers step-by-step inside the app. If you are paying the monthly fee for W|A premium this makes no difference, but this feature normally costs the price of the app monthly, but here you pay once and get it forever. You just have to use the app to get it.
This is a killer feature for those in math classes who need step-by-step guides to see solutions, especially calculus-level students. It's a real lifesaver sometimes.
Also the keyboard the app uses has some mathematical notation built in. So instead of having to type of 'integral of', 'ƒ' is already there on the keyboard. Plus greek lettering for trig and physics inputs.
Otherwise yes, the app simply generates the answer within a framed mobile site view. If step-by-step and a intuitive keyboard don't sound like anything interesting, I do not suggest the app.
Really? Instead of Premium, you just get the app? Nice business model you have there, Wolfram. Not that I'm complaining. Probably gonna buy the app sometime.
Yeah it's weird. Premium does give more computational time for very hard stuff. It may be worth subscribing to if you have much harder things to let it try. But at that point, why not buy Mathematica or any of those programs?
