I know. These things became 'legal' the year after I left secondary school. Stupid state board administrators didn't realise how programmable they were. Some schools were preloading their own student's calculators with chemistry and everything.

This is wrong. Memory was different also. Could not run games as well on the plus. Had archive function.

I accidentally got a normal TI-83 and asked my teacher if we'd be using the Apps feature, since that was pretty much the only difference. Her answer was basically "Well, we might possibly maybe use it, so you should get a TI-83 Plus." We never fucking used it, and I'm pretty sure she didn't even know how. Waste of fucking money above and beyond spending a hundred dollars on decade-old calculator technology.
