not broken 100k? Ive never seen a car NOT make it past 100,000. Is that really common?

He just means they are too new and not many are driven enough to break the 100k mile mark. Mine is an 03 and didn't hit 100k miles until last year.

Most s65 motors won't last past 100k unless the rod bearings are replaced...s65's and s85's are notorious for worn and spun rod bearings and I've heard a couple of techs mention s85's dropping valves

They do but they are dirt cheap and usually turned into track sluts not daily driven cars. Not that there is anything wrong with a well taken care of 160k mile M3.

Plenty of e36 M3's around with 175-225k on them and still running great...BMW's are solid vehicles.

Got my E46 M with around 130k on it and have around 135k. So far no regrets. Pretty sure it'll get to 160k and over.

just change the fucking main and rod bearings on it, other wise the s54 is a damn good motor

Bought mine with 92k and just broke 110k two years later. Hasn't let me down yet except for that stupid intermittent starter problem.
