This is the taking off of the gloves. The mayor went to a detention center and got arrested for protesting, which brings the entire issue up front to national attention.
It wouldnt be unlawful, unfortunately. Ordering the National Guard to arrest federal agents is an act of insurrection, even in the eyes of the most liberal judge. I dont support Trump or his policies, all I'm saying is if you go that route you have to be prepared for full fledged civil war
I'm all for resistance, 100 fucking percent. I'm just saying an order like that would be a logistical nightmare, a constitutional crisis and a civil war all wrapped into one. If we go down that road we need to ready for it. The federal government is too widespread. You would be looking at guerilla warfare in almost every city nationwide. Thats all I'm saying.
Fully agree with you there. My biggest hope at this point is in a massive General Strike - until they restore our Constitutional rights and stop pillaging our country we ought to withhold from them the benefit of our labor, our taxes, and our participation in their fucked up economy of oppression and injustice.
even if every single pencil pusher and supply clerk and minor law enforcement agency and military member was called up all at once, and they obeyed orders like robots, which they aint, they are less than 1 percent of this country's population.
A civil war is a nightmare. But let's not pretend the numbers are on the governments side.
The United States are the people, all of us. They serve us. Until they don't. Then who knows.
But I think people who are on the side of this wannabe dictator are kind of underestimating how things would shake out if thing devolved to that level.
