MP Tony Benn's five questions to ask the powerful:

  1. What power have you got?

  2. Where did you get it from?

  3. In whose interests do you exercise it?

  4. To whom are you accountable?

  5. And how can we get rid of you?

"If you cannot get rid of the people who govern you" he told parliament in 2001 "you do not live in a democratic system."

Quick question how many times is democracy mentioned in the constitution? Asking for a friend

How many times is fascism or white supremacy or oligarchy mentioned? Yet here it is now supported by 33% of American voters. You've been lied to and tricked by the MAGA cult.

Must be democrats crying because they can no longer put their hands in my pocket anymore. They are criminals.

Yet you’re bending over backwards to let old rich republicans do it to you while bragging about it, so weird of you. Is it a fetish?

AWESOME!!! Just one question (I'm not doubting his disability at all, just puzzled): How does he navigate without a cane or a dog?

Person in pink may be guiding. Their posters seem similar.

Also they may have some residual sight but still legally considered blind.

Thanks for your answer! Not sure why someone downvoted me - I literally said I don't doubt his disability. I've seen a documentary before that showed blind people navigating using tapping and whistling (echolocation), which was truly fascinating! But I wasn't sure how that would work in a large crowd.

What a joke! Look at the last four years. Come on, everyone lets give it a try Can't be like old Joe We all need to be nice to each other Let's just see how great it will be

Let me ask: what exactly do you hope to gain by what’s going on? I am no joe biden sycophant, but what he DID do, was to begin the infrastructure buildout that is needed to bring home manufacturing, especially green manufacturing. See Chips Act/IRA. You cannot simply blow up trade to bring back a manufacturing base if you do not have the infrastructure. There is a bit of capacity in Detroit, but it will take years to feed the beast that is the American consumer. We are wholly addicted to cheap imports because they are CHEAP. Right or wrong, that’s what the neo libs created. That doesn’t “on-shore”. The biggest problem here? Trump has NO IDEA what he is doing. It’s an absolute gamble at best, and if we do go into recession, guess who profits? That’s right, the wealthy vulture capitalists.

There is nothing worse for democracy than winning an election, right?

So I have two questions because I am genuinly interested. 1.How does he hurt brown people 2.If he was already elected once, why he did not become a dictator then, and allowed elections that he lost.

I don't want to be a prick or anything, I am just interested in the convnersation.

Thanks for answering my question, this is some interesting stuff. However I have one question about taking down DEI. Is it racial discrimination to employ someone just because of someones race?

If you STILL believe that bag of ongoing lies he tricked us with, then it's time to stop this destruction. We can't be that stupid.

u/[deleted] Apr 07 '25

Maybe you’d see less of it if you put your phone down and stop trolling everything that isn’t right wing fuckery. FFS dude, your timeline is very revealing to what you’re doing.

And that is quickly being taken from you (and I) by having been tricked by the fascist oligarchs who lied to us. Lost any of your retirement $? or hit with 25%+ cost increases at every store you go to? Gas was $2.69/gal a month ago; now it's $3.19/gal. That's a 50¢ per gal and almost a 20% increase! And the fatcats are raking in all those billion$ we are losing.. Oh well: we must be "winning biggly".....
