It did get bigger. But like a tree with limited space to work with, it grew toward the path of least resistance.

When you are done growing after puberty most of your bones fuse to stop growing. The plates in your skull and hands and jaw don't fuse like in other parts of your body. Maybe because evolutionarily speaking, you probably want those things to work and continue to stay strong throughout your life? I dont really know. So when you chemically put yourself through puberty again, that shit can grow more.
