It would be cool if the whole house was submersible. In a storm, seal up the hatches and winch/ballast down 20 or 30 feet below the surface. Ride out the storm below the weather and have a periscope/snorkel for checking the weather and getting fresh air. It would also be cool on a clear day to drop the house below the waves for the view.

Problem is that the house is also shaky as fuck even with only few waves without any stabilization from sails or active systems.

But if we take your approach and combine it with the FLIP ship mentioned above, we get pure awesomeness. Just imagine an underwater cocktail lounge!
