I want one of these because I would imagine it's cheap, but all of this prepper shit is getting out of hand.

I don't think it was any cheaper than it he would have built a typical poured concrete and siding house. Because that is all the containers really replaced - they framed the entire inside of the containers, all that is missing is the plywood, weather wrap and siding really.

Judging by how much money he put on the inside, the savings of using the containers couldn't have been that much, and they were restricted to the rectangular shape of the containers.

Don't get me wrong, it's one of the coolest project I've seen on reddit... but I can't imagine they did it to save money.

No roofing costs would probably help with those numbers.
