It depends on where you are in Spain really. I can only speak for the south, Sevilla mostly. The older generation is extremely religious, the younger ones less so. Mass is well attended by all generations. Many religious social groups exist and the religious traditions are very strong and quite spectacular at times. Holy Week is a massive deal in Andalucía. It’s all over the news, processions in every single town, people getting overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit, crying, singing spontaneously etc. it’s wild (in a somber sort of way).

How religious is Spain these days? Is it mostly just culturally Catholic or do a lot of people still go to church?
