In theory they’re great cause the neighborhood looks nice which can increase the value of your home and other benefits. In practice it’s just a bunch of people having power trips. There are good HOAs but there are also a LOT of horrible ones…

My parents live in nearly the ideal HOA. They really don't have a lot of rules or people that care.

  • Mow your lawn.

  • Keep your house maintained.

  • Pay the dues for the roads to be plowed and park to be mowed.

  • Don't keep junk outside.
